W życiu piękne są tylko chwile” – probably everyone knows the words of the song „Naiwne pytania” with the famous verse. For over forty years, Dżem has been a true legend of the Polish music scene. In the history of the band was many dramatic episodes but undoubtedly the “Polish Rolling Stones” are known and loved by all generations. Dżem covers were played by world-class stars, including Metallica.

The group appeared in the music world during the Jarocin Festival in 1980 and became the greatest discovery. Dżem fell in love with the Polish audience, releasing in 1982 his first singles “Paw” and “Whisky“. Their career began to take off then. Recorded and released in 1985, the longplay “Cegła” is a strict canon of Polish rock, and at the same time the best-seller in Dżem’s discography.

Dżem enriched and built Polish rock music by creating songs such as: “Czerwony jak cegła“, “Sen o Viktorii“, “Skazany na bluesa“, “Wehikuł czasu“, “Whisky“, “List do M.“, “Cała w trawie“, “Do kołyski” and many, many others.

The current band line-up is Adam Otręba, Beno Otręba, Jurek Styczyński and soloist Maciek Balcar, Zbyszek Szczerbiński and Janusz Borucki. Despite the difficulties, the deaths of Rysiek Riedl and Paweł Berger, the group gives concerts at the highest level.
