Sting in Jordanki

The TV gala of Sting for the Polish Television TVP, held on the 8^th December 2016 was one of the most important events organised in the Cultural and Congress Centre Jordanki. The artist promoted his album 57th & 9th in Toruń. The concert included performance by Anna Maria Jopek, who honoured this event with her recital. Except for the songs from the album 57th & 8^th, such hits could be heard on the stage as Englishman in New York, Message in a Bottle and Fragile, performed by Sting in a duet with Anna Maria Jopek. Sting’s performance was not of commercial character. In the scope of promotion of his new album, the artist  searched for the places of chamber hall character, in Europe, and also in Poland, where he could record a material for television. The Universal company, in charge of organization of the promotional tour of Sting, had a number of locations in Poland suitable for performance of this artist to select from. As it turned out, it was the Concert Hall in Jordanki that fulfilled the producer’s expectations in the best way. The concert was organized by the agency SOS Music, and co-organized by the Marshall’s Office of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Province and the Office of the City of Toruń; its exclusive sponsor was Energa S.A. and other partners included: Universal Music Polska and Telewizja Polska. The television gala recorded in Jordanki was broadcast by the first channel of the Polish television  TVP 1 on the New Year’s Day (1 January 2017).
